I Want a Large TiVo with Lots of Recording Time

This is a doc often referred as "Hinsdale's howto". It worked for me with Tivo2 series "540-xx". I started from step 10. My Tivo had only one hard drive and I replaced with a larger one. Everything went well. The original drive was Maxtor DiamondMax 8 40GB, the replacement is Maxtor DiamondMax 10 250 GB 16GB cache. It's louder than the original one. I couldn't fine the utility from Maxtor, which is supposed to make a HDD more quiet.

A collection of Tivo hacks.
