INNSBRUCK, Austria (AP) — Lance Armstrong and other riders of the Astana team protested the Kazakhstan squad's lack of salary payments by fading out the sponsors on their jerseys in the Giro d'Italia on Friday.
He-he :) Welcome to Kz! When I quit my last job in the research lab (mid '90s), almost all salaries were delayed for months for all people in Kazakhstan. I thought those days were long gone. It seems Kz is in big real crisis now. Interestingly, most Kazakhs would deny it. When I visited the country last Winter most often reply was "Credit crisis? What crisis?!"
