Redmond software giant Microsoft Corp. said Monday that it initiated preliminary discussions last year regarding a merger with German business software firm SAP AG. Those discussions ended "a few months ago due to the complexity of the potential transaction and subsequent integration," Microsoft said. "There are no intentions to resume these talks."
