Fitness Trainer Certificates

I looked up profiles of personal trainers at Health and Wellness center of GWU, and collected all the different certificates of fitness trainers. The idea's that these must be good certifications, at least they were good enough for our trainers.

• American College of Sports Medicine (ACSM): Certified Personal Trainer
• American Council on Exercise (ACE): Lifestyle and Weight Management Consultant, Certified Personal Trainer
• Aerobics and Fitness Association of America (AFAA): Group Exercise Instructor
• National Strength and Conditioning Association (NSCA): Certified Strength and Conditioning Specialist (CSCS)
• United States of America Weightlifting (USAW): Club Coach
• CrossFit: Level 1 Certification
• National Academy of Sports Medicine (NASM): Personal Trainer

It seems that CPR training is a pre-requisite to the certifications:

American Red Cross: CPR, First Aid, and AED
American Safety & Health Institute: Adult CPR and AED
